Wine and Cheesecake Pairing

With summer in full swing, it is the perfect time to invite some family and friends over and enjoy a slice of Suzy’s Cream Cheesecake with a glass of wine. When you pick the right pairing you are able to bring out the flavors of both components, leaving you with a superior overall taste. Here a few wine serving suggestions that you’re sure to love with your next slice of cheesecake.

MoscatoCheesecake and Wine Pairing
This choice of wine is a guaranteed winner, as it goes well with nearly any cheesecake you decide to choose.  The white wine is famous for its sweet flavors of peach, orange blossom and nectarine. Moscato’s sweet, low alcohol content, and refreshing flavor makes it a perfect dessert wine that will compliment a rich Suzy’s Cheesecake.  But before you go out and purchase a bottle make sure you do your research, as this wine is made all over the world and thus wineries tend to produce different variations with differing flavor profiles.

Much like Muscato, this wine made from white grapes, will go well with any sweet dessert. It has a rich mahogany color and smooth velvety texture that helps a slice of cheesecake go down well. Furthermore, many bottles tend to have a salty taste, which creates a perfect blend with cheesecakes that have sweet fruit toppings. If you love your cheesecake topped with sauce or sweets, this wine is definitely for you.

This German wine has a very sweet taste while still containing a touch of tartness. And because of its high levels of acidity, Riesling is widely known for its strong aromas. This light-sweet flavor and texture has made it an ideal pair to any cheesecake as it smooth’s out the denseness of the cake.

Sauvignon Blanc
Similarly to Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc sits in between spice and fruitiness that make it the perfect choice for a flavorful cheesecake. And because this French wine contains a variety of primary fruit flavors such as lime, green apple, passion fruit and white peach, it can handle just about any topping or cake layer you’ve added to the cheesecake.
